Making their way up through the local and district playdowns, this team went on to earn entry into the finals of the provincial championships. With a number of players sporting injuries, the team persevered, defeating Windsor 12-8 in the final game to claim the provincial title. At the Canadian championships, held at the Port Arthur Stadium, they faced North Burnaby in the best of three finals, winning the second game 5-2, and the third and deciding match 7-1.
Representing Canada at the Senior Little League World Series, the team faced the Western U.S. representatives, Sacramento, in their first game. With Fort William rallying back with 3 runs in the third to tie it up, the game came down to a tie-breaking run in the final inning. A second loss against Ohio, in this highly competitive, double knockout event, saw them out of the tournament. Returning home, the team was welcomed with a parade to City Hall, having proudly represented their country with distinction. Members of this Canadian Championship winning team included:
