The acknowledged founder of the sport of Judo in Northwestern Ontario, "Rush" organized the Dryden School of Judo in 1952 from whence his influence spread throughout the area. Holder of the 5th Degree Kodokan Black Belt he coached national and provincial champions. He retired from active coaching in 1977 after 27 years as an instructor.
