Biography

The 1975 edition of the Fort William National-Internationals Senior Little League team entered the District 3 playdowns looking to reclaim the national title won by their namesakes a year earlier. Defeating the Port Arthur Continentals 13-0 in the opening game, they never looked back, winning all three of their next match ups to claim the district title.

With the National Championships held in Thunder Bay the team had the support and pressure of playing before a hometown crowd. Shutting out their opponents 2-0 and 4-0 in their first two games, their 5-3 loss to Calgary in the third game forced a rematch to decide who would wear the national crown. Their decisive 6-1 victory against the western squad saw the Canadian Senior Little League Championship title returned to Thunder Bay.

Representing Canada at the Little League Senior World Series in Gary, Indiana, the team put in a fine showing in a competition that featured the top ball players from the US, the Far East and Europe. Dropping their first game to Fresno 2-0, they re-energized themselves in the second match-up, winning 4-0 over New York. Their hard fought 1-0 loss to Illinois in the third game of the double knockout event put them out of a tournament in which they represented their hometown and country with distinction.
